The blue birds on this form are freed from the cage (made of tree branches) and fly, without constraint onto the form of the skirt. The torso-like a birdcage has a cover, but instead of putting the birds to sleep with its darkness, the figure lets the cover fall aside into its shoulder, opening the form/herself to the light light, air, and freedom. The carving on the left shoulder is a detail of the interior structure of bird wings and the raised text on the partial cover is a narrative about memory and remembering.
